The photoblogger Tommy Ton of Jak & Jil, is back in London. The vibrant and cosmopolitan nature of London make London Fashion Week tickets even more highly coveted than the latest Chloe handbag. The glamour of the event is highly seductive and London Fashion Week tickets offer entry into a world of celebrities, fashion designers, fantastic clothes, beautiful models and vats of Champagne. The fashion glitterati certainly know how to stage an event and every single day of the London Fashion Week is guaranteed to have a sizzling party atmosphere. It runs from Friday 18th - Wednesday 22nd February 2011. Over 25 years 2009's London Fashion Week marked the 25th anniversary of both the event itself, and the British Fashion Council.

The OFF-CATWALK ~ New York Fashion Week by Photodiarist 2
Another fabulous Mercedes Benz Fashion Week 2011 has come to an end in New York. Here the second part of the Newyorker photoblogger The Photodiarist, a few photographs of the people attending the shows or hanging around the venue. The Photodiarist met quite a few of the big name fashion bloggers and a number of well known editors and creative directors, including Anna Wintour, Emmanuelle Alt, Grace Coddington, Glenda Bailey and Anna Dello Russo. As I always suggest you and for those of you who haven't noticed her work, check them out here. For those readers who are less into fashion and more into her usual works, don't worry. The Photodiarist didn't change into a fashion blog. She promised the blog will soon return to normal.
"I must say, it has been a good fashion week for me. I only wish I had the time (and not as much work) to go to London, Milan and Paris. Since NYFW comes around only twice a year, I must indulge in a little street/fashion week style".

The OFF-CATWALK ~ New York Fashion Week by Photodiarist
Newyorker photoblogger The Photodiarist is in action at New York Fashion Week. I've already written about her works here and here Interesting to see how this photographer turns her lens on the well-dressed people of New York . She says: "I am a diarist of ordinary moments that move me. I gravitate towards black and white photography but still celebrate color. I love the candid capture but respect the power of the choreographed moment. I study the rules of phos+graphis but am compelled periodically to ignore them". My suggestion? Check out daily The Photodiarist for a new yorker perspective.

The MUSTHAVE ~ Black transparencies
Dolce & Gabbana |
The transparency is a must this spring summer 2011. Some transparencies as symbols of femininity are everywhere, both in the day or night looks: tunics, pantsuits or evening gowns. And the lace comes back to seduce with sophisticated textures that creates a bold transparency. Lace in all of its possible variants - the kinds that appear on vintage tablecloths, curtains and lingerie. The classic symbol of pure femininity, encompassing the transparency of desire and the sleek aura of modernity. Entire or as a details that break up, the transparency dominate. It's time to seduce with your lingerie.

The INTERIOR ~ Kelly Wearstler
Kelly Wearstler is my biggest interior design icon. For those of you who have never heard of her, she's a distinguished interior designer and tastemaker best known for her enchanting take on interiors and the luxury lifestyle (more). The centerfold model turned interior designer has placed her undeniable style on the swankiest hotels and homes from L.A. to Anguilla. I can't tell you how much i'm loving her projects. Here some of her works, a creative process about experimentation, taking risks and having a free spirit. She says "I approach each project with the intent to make it beautiful and give it soul. I have trays for each project where I gather vibe inspiration like materials from my library, new elements of beauty – anything that catches my eye. Each tray represents a space in a project. They are constantly evolving and keep me organized. The trays become little collections of each project". There’s nothing subtle about Kelly’s designs. You either love it or not. They’re bright. They’re bold. They’re daring. They’re not to be ignored. I admire them and find them to be works of arts and inspiring, especially when combined with antique elements.
The RUNWAY ~ SS 2011 Chanel Haute Couture
The Chanel Spring-Summer 2011 Haute Couture collection has created a dazzling bridge between the 1920s and the 21st century.
Low waists, slender busts and delicate feet encased in ballerina shoes with transparent ribbons have been combined with the colors of clouds or pearls and waves of shimmering spangles, while embroidered shirts have been paired with Couture jeans that lengthen the legs to infinity… It is a younger look that is lighter than ever, rejecting any kind of bourgeois heaviness. The collection is characterized by total grace and luxurious materials that make their mark with skilled understatement, recapturing a style that came as second nature to Coco Chanel… Here some pictures of the backstage photographed by Benoît Peverelli.

The EDITORIAL ~ Audacious pieces
Models Ilse de Boer and Maud Welzen pose for the February edition of Marie Claire Italia where the duo wears the most colorful and audacious pieces from the spring season. Ilse and Maud don voluminous hair and form-fitting ensembles. The duo wears labels such as Valentino, Jil Sander and Versace. Photographed by Taki Bibelas and styled by Ivana Spernicelli. Even if after the first two images this story lost it's energy, the added effects give the feeling of a warm summer sunset.

The CAMPAIGN ~ Chloé
Chloe S/S 2011 campaign features Malgosia Bela and Iselin Steiro photographed by David Sims. The spring campaign give us a simple and clean series of advertisements. Natural, elegant and serene. Simple shapes and silhouettes, earthy nude tones from the latest collection. Elegance in its purest form. There's nothing quite like a Chloe Girl.
The EDITORIAL ~ Marvellous Excess
I've already posted a shot of this amazing powdered editorial here. It's definitely one of my favourite editorials. Is it maybe cause of the main colour used?! Images originally published in Vogue Italia (March 2004) as Marvellous Excess. Natalia photographed by Glen Luchford.
