The ART ~ Agnieszka Kurek

The perfect view, 2008, oli on canvas, 140x200 cm
Born on 1984 in Cracow, she now lives in Bassano del Grappa close to Venice. A degree in Fine Art from the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Caracow and a scholarship from Painting Faculty of the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence. With individual exhibition at ’Salotto Fiorentino’ in Florence, ‘Raven Gallery’ in Cracow and Paris, she's an emerging artist to have eyes focused on.  "While painting, with the very classical medium of the oil paints, I'm creating an extremely esthetic spaces, situations, recently landscapes, or portraits, or just selected fragments of reality. The world in canvas is described with perfect, precise lines. Colours are always intense, contrasting, and saturated.Ultra esthetic paintings suddenly become minimal with surrealistic poetic.
My goal is to approach the analysis of the contemporary anesthetic effect, which reveals whenever the esthetic effect is being reenacted. The human figure is often depicted fragmentarily. Like in the composition " Magenta, Cobalt Blue, Lemon Yellow ". Where human being hides behind a perfect make-up-paint, appearing too beautiful to be real. However, It's mouth is always blurring with the background of the skin tone, the eyes stay sharp, expecting to play a game with a viewer. Is it still a human being or just a doll? The format of my oil paintings has been always important to me. They are mostly executed in big sizes, having the impact of the unequivocal".
Keep your eyes on this artist.
