The MUSTHAVE ~ From Camel to Light Beige

The color palette for winter 2010 2011 has been refined and made of beautiful nuances that lie in one line and combines. Nearly weightless pink and gray colors run smoothly on soft liver in chocolate brown and olive green. A revival of color comes from exotic blue and red lipstick.
I've already written about this calibrated gray winter (see here) – heavy and dark – this winter is replaced by an ultra-chic light gray tint in the corridors or ‘oyster gray “is mentioned.
The color palette in this post here is inspired by natural landscapes, using neutral shades such as camel, cognac, beige and light beige. These shades are very easy to combine and are particularly well with black or denim color (see here). Try the combination of camel beige or gray hues. Very elegant! The warm cognac color is one of the hottest colors for winter. Comforting, deep, reassuring, heartwarming.

Some time ago I stumbled upon Alvaro Beamud Cortes’ portfolio. I love this young and talentuous photographer. He captures the Essence of Femininity. His work is not only dynamic, it also showcases his eye for composition and color, as well as his skills in the photo manipulation department.
Alvaro, originally from Valencia, is currently the creative director of one of the sleekest fashion magazines in Spain, 5 Magazine at only 28 he has a great vision for what is going. Alvaro's eye for detail has enabled the magazine to lead the pack and constantly deliver fashion editorials that convey beauty, style and a fresh point of view - with the hottest new models in every issue.
Forever the multitasker, Alvaro has managed to juggle parallel lives as a creative director and a well-travelled photographer. The INTERIOR ~ Sea of Shoes Blogger Haute House

I loved the recent post that Jane Aldrige of Sea of Shoes  has dedicated to her Haute house. A passion for MAXIMALIST. Mother and doughter's house was recently shot by talented photographer Manny Rodriguez for Rue Magazine. She worte:
"StyleSwoon and Atlantis Home are the masterminds behind my bedroom makeover...it used to be extremely bare, but while I was in Florence for Luisaviaroma's event earlier this year, they surprised me with a complete overhaul. I could not recognize the room. Best surprise of my life ever :) My room is such a happy place for me now".

The MUSTHAVE ~ PoweRED ♥

"We are cronicly insicure. We are afraid to do wrong and to dare. We hate certainties but the only chance we take is our too high heels' one. We look for refuge, and not just from the cold weather, in our grey coat that, you know, is perfect in every look. We hide our will of being noticed behind a natural lip-gloss. We are devoted to black, we adore blue and we are conquered by the sober beige. But rarely we go beyond those colours. And leave in a drawer our shyness and take out a maxi coral pull, maybe in one of those days when even the hot black coffee has no effect. Be gained by the loudy elegance of a scarlet coat, when the sky is grey and the rain is persistent. Fall into tempation of a pair of purple sandals, to pass from the bed to the street. Leave our doubts behind and wear a carmine dress. Coloure our day with a little detail that talks about us, our energy, our femininity and our will to show up. Rarely we can lapse into red power.. and, in my opinion, this is so wrong!!".
I'm just loving the red explosion showing up this fall. It's one of those trends that nobody talked much about when Fall fashions hit the runway last February, but has been cropping up organically on people's streetstyles. I'm having a sudden red gown and bag craving! Maybe some feathers too.

The EDITORIAL ~ Atelier Versace Fall 2010

Vogue Germany reunites model and photographer team Anja Rubik and Camilla Akrans once again for its October issue. Wearing Haute Couture garments from Chanel, Givenchy and Valentino styled by Nicola Knels, Anja is all elegance and glamour in the extravagant Meisterwerke.
Love the one from Versace.
Last two pictures are from the Versace lookbook fall 2010 with the 14 years old supermodel Monika Jagaciak.

Start 'em while they're young...

I'm sorry, but these kids are just too cute...If I ever find Mr. Right and we happen to have perfect little babies... I may just have to move to Paris and dress them like this. As if Chanel wasn’t innovative enough, they have now taken to debuting, literally, young models. What we wouldn’t give to be that two-year old holding his father’s hand on that runway! Ex-Karl Lagerdeld male muse Brad Kroenig walked the catwalk alongside his two-years old son wearing identical Chanel outfits!

The VINTAGE ~ Chanel jewelery

Did you know that 1st Dibs now showcases new and vintage fine jewelry? They launched this new part of their site and I've been meaning to browse...Insanely fabulous Chanel necklace anyone?
Actually, this piece reminded me of red trend for this fall 2010. (Click on over to their site and you can get a full size preview of it!). I've been super into red lately so I'm really loving this!

The ART ~ Igor + André

The paintings today are from the Top Newcomers Spring 2011 Series that Igor did for Models.com. The first painting is Britt Maren. Igor wrote about his model: "Britt has a really interesting look, it's very versatile. Basically before i did any of the paintings, i looked through about 100 pictures of each of the girls so i could get a sense of their personality. I found that usually helps me alot. But Britt really has a wide range of looks. When i saw this picture, i instantly wanted to paint it. There was just something in the pose & expression that i really liked. :)".
He promised that soon he'll have some new different stuff for us.
I´m so impressed of his works, each portrait is so luminous. Totally inspirational for me...

The MUSTHAVE ~ Grey Days

Grey is the new black this fall winter. A classic flattering color, noble for the office, elegant in the evening. Grey always works.
Grey is ideal for certain weather. A perfect option for rainy fall and muddy winter. This color trend is essential for the fashion season.

The MUSTHAVE ~ Streets are InspiRED

I'm just loving the red explosion showing up this fall. It's one of those trends that nobody talked much about when Fall fashions hit the runway last February, but has been cropping up organically on people's streetstyles.
I'm having a sudden red gown and bag craving! Maybe some feathers too.

The MUSTHAVE ~ Rosso

This fall winter 2010/2011 Red is starring. It's always been a colour favourite of mine - of course after poudre!-. Fashion history, with Valentino and Christian Dior, has taught us that this colour is THE colour.

"J'Adore le Rouge. C'est la couleur da la vie."

The EDITORIAL ~ MemoraBEALEia

Little Edie. 1940's Uber-chic

"I can tell what’s inside a person right away. Mother and I can see behind the masks; we’re artists, it’s the artist’s eye. Jackie has it, too.” says little Edie
I've long been a grey gardens fan, so there was no way i could let this Edie Beale-inspired editorial slide by without a post.Haven't you still seen the original documentary, click HERE immediately to watch it on hulu (the 'beales of grey gardens' follow-up feature is pretty major as well).
If by some twisted tragedy you still haven't red about Edie's life... Edith Bouvier Beale of Grey Gardens was First Cousin to First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. She was an American socialite, fashion model and cabaret performer.
"On July 29, 1952, Beale returned to live with her mother in the East Hampton estate Grey Gardens (at 3 West End Road).

After the 1963 death of the Beales' caretaker and handyman Tom "Tex" Logan, and a burglary in 1968, the women lived in near isolation and, eventually, poverty. Mother and daughter reportedly remained independent by selling off their Tiffany pieces item by item.
On October 22, 1971, inspectors from the Suffolk County Health Department raided the house and discovered that it violated every known building regulation. The story became a national scandal. Health Department officials said they would evict the women unless the house was cleaned.
The Beales then rose to fame as a result of the Maysles brothers' 1975 direct cinema documentary film Grey Gardens. The film revealed the strong and dysfunctional ties between Mrs. Beale and Little Edie. - wikipedia -
